If you have decided that an online college is the way that you will obtain your degree, then finding the best online college will be imperative to you achieving that goal. Finding the right “fit” for you can be a bit of a task but with some handy hints and tips that I have listed below, you can start to get a list together of which colleges may suit you best and then go on to find the one that is perfect for you.

First up, only consider and apply at accredited colleges. This is the first step in many that will assure you that the time and money that you spend in achieving your degree is done so with a college that is qualified to offer it to you. A degree from a non accredited college is not worth the paper it is written on. Don’t waste your time with the various offers and deals that these schools offer, they will not win you any favor later when you are trying to be employed.

Next thing to weigh up is how much time will need to be spent in order to pass your units of study. If you have a full time job and a family, how many hours per week are you able to devote to your degree. If you are unable to commit a large block of time each week to study, then perhaps studying part time or in a reduced capacity could help you achieve your goal, albeit over a longer period of time.

Lastly, look at how your course is divided up. Is there any time that you must send on campus or doing field work? If this is part of your course then you should weigh up your ability to attend. A degree from a college that is on the other side of the country may be great in every other aspect, however if you need to spend a day on campus for a semester at some point then this will be an inconvenience.
